If you're on a tight budget, or if you simply don't need all the bells and whistles, our baseline refurbished CF-30 model is an excellent solution. By keeping the optical drive and memory upgrade as optional add-ons, we're able to offer this fully-rugged Panasonic Toughbook for under $500. Yes, it is a stripped-down unit, but often that's all you need. Its Intel Core Duo 1.66 GHz processor remains perfectly functional for most applications. If you need a touchscreen, you'll want to check out one of our other laptops. If you don't need touch, this computer will save you a lot of money. Why pay a premium for features you'll never use?
All the basics are taken care of. We've removed the now-unsupported Windows XP that it came with and installed Windows 7 so you can be sure your system is up-to-date, easy to use, and supported by Microsoft. With all the essential ports, cards and wireless capabilities, this refurbished Toughbook is ready to serve your needs.

Edit: Just to provide a bit more information, the Gobi 3000 card supports High Speed Packet Access (HSPA), which is a newer (and faster) mobile protocol than what was available when the Gobi 2000 came out. HSPA has a peak download speed of about 14mbit/s as opposed to a peak download speed of about 7mbit/s for the Gobi 2000. Peak speeds are only attainable in ideal conditions, and they're dependent on your mobile carrier and plan. In short, the Gobi 3000 is a (potentially) faster 3G card than the Gobi 2000, but it is still not as fast as a 4G card.
