Are Toughbooks bulletproof?

Nope.

Are Toughbooks waterproof?

No Toughbook (or any laptop, for that matter) is truly waterproof, but different models provide different levels of water resistance. The CF-30, for example, has an Ingress Protection rating of IP54, while the CF-31 has an improved rating of IP65. Toughbooks also go through various tests like those outlined in the MIL-STD-810G.

What's the difference between "fully-rugged," "semi-rugged" and "business-rugged"?

Although these are not standardized classifications, there are clear differences in Panasonic's case. In short, fully-rugged Toughbooks emphasize durability and all forms of torture resistance above all else. Semi-rugged Toughbooks trade off a little of that ruggedness to provide a more consumer-friendly experience with slimmer builds and often snappier performance. Business-rugged Toughbooks are all about portability. Here's a slightly more detailed explanation.

Which Toughbook is best for me?

It varies.

What does your warranty cover?

Our Limited Lifetime Warranty (LLW) comes standard with every Toughbook we sell. With the LLW, we will waive our standard repair fee and fix your computer for just the price of any necessary replacement parts. Extended warranties can be purchased which will cover the cost of parts as well as service, barring physical damage. For more detailed information, please review our Warranty page.

Do you offer military discounts?

Sir yes sir! We offer discounts for those in the armed forces, students, senior citizens and repeat customers. To learn more, see our discounts page.

We also offer a bunch of other discounts if you're willing to do a little digging (hint: try the "coupons" tab on the left edge of the page).

Will you pay cash for my old Toughbook?

It depends. And we say that cautiously and very tentatively. Yes, there are sites out there that say they'll buy any Toughbook in any condition, but let's think about the implications of that. They're selling those things! Who knows where they came from?! We have an extremely high standard of quality, so we primarily buy in quantity from a handfull of rental agencies who we've come to trust over the years. We will, however, occasionally buy laptops from individuals if they are a desireable model in fantastic condition. If you think that is what you have, please send an email to Bob including a detailed description and photographs of the Toughbook. Otherwise, you may want to consider our trade-in program.

Do you accept purchase orders?

We accept purchase orders from government-funded agencies only. Visit our PO page for more info.

Do you offer financing?

We do not currently offer in-house financing, but you may qualify for financing through PayPal.

Can I order a Toughbook with Windows XP from you guys?

Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and we cannot recommend using it if you will be connected to a network. However, we do understand that special circumstances may call for a computer running XP.
