Dell Makes Rugged Laptops and Tablets Too!
In 2008, Dell threw their hat into the rugged notebook ring with their first ever fully ruggedized laptop, the Dell Latitude XFR D630. Dell’s first few attempts at establishing their line of rugged laptops and tablets were to retrofit existing Dell retail equipment with ruggedized casing and rubber bumpers to make them more durable. However, they have since improved from the ground up, resulting in a range of equipment that is now highly competitive within their respective classes.
How Tough is Dell Rugged Technology?
Dell offers rugged laptops and tablets certified with MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-810H for drop, heat, cold, vibration, and water resistance. Their fully rugged units have an ingress protection rating of IP65 or higher. Not only that, but all Dell rugged laptops and tablets are EPEAT-Silver certified; this mean that you don’t have to sacrifice durability for saving the environment.
These devices are powerful and equipped with an Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, making them suitable for running demanding software and intensive tasks. Additionally, most of Dell's current models support Windows 11, Microsoft’s latest operating system. For added security and reliability, Dell implemented a TPM chip to each of their devices in order to help oppose threats against firmware and ransomware attacks.

The Advantage of Dell in Rugged Computing
The brand 'DELL' has been around for a long time. They know computers and put out a quality product. They have been around the retail space for even longer time than they have the rugged space and have used their knowledge and experience in said space to advance the design and functionality of their rugged computers to the maximum. Considering the ground that they have covered in such little time, it will be exciting to watch them push out even better units for their rugged customers in the future.
