BJCS at the Atlantic City Police Security Expo
Posted by Doran Janeka, TJ Supper on 27th Sep 2024
Our company has held a booth at the Police Security Expo in Atlantic City, New Jersey, every year for the past 14 years. This expo is one of North America's most extensive product showcases for law-enforcement-related gadgets and accessories. Products featured throughout the expo are designed to help make jobs in the police and security sector safer and more accessible.
We had a handful of our employees attend this year. Our team included Bob, Marisa, Matt, and TJ. Learn more about our employees on our Meet Our Team page.
Our Experience At The Expo
We set up our booth featuring many of the rugged laptops and tablets we keep stocked and inventoried at booth number 1433.
Coincidentally, Panasonic’s booth was set up across from ours. We were able to get an up close and personal look at the new rugged equipment without waiting for it to arrive through our doors to refurbish. Brand new models like the latest FZ-40 and FZ-55 were out on display for officers to test drive.
Our Favorite Highlights From Other Vendors
There was quite a bit to see and do here! They had everything from fully-equipped police vehicles to high-tech robot dogs walking around. So, everyone from BJCS who went to the expo took some time to walk the floor and explore everything to see.
Bob enjoyed the Elite Vehicle Solutions booth. He was surprised that they had enough equipment to take up six booths! Elite easily had enough equipment to outfit multiple vehicles inside and out. On top of that, they had free coffee!
Panasonic arranged their booth to showcase an FZ-40 in a display inundated with a constant flow of water. The laptop was able to stay powered on regardless of the uninterrupted supply of water being sprayed on it due to its Ingress Protection rating of IP66. This was a true testament to the progress that rugged laptops have made over the years.
On display, there were multiple show cars like Michael Keaton's 1989 Batmobile, the Batgirl motorcycle, the Pac Man rod, the Mummy Machine, and the Bugs Bunny Bugs Buggy located in the entrance area of the expo.
We checked out some of the booths hosted by vendors that we have partnered with such as Getac, Brother, and Havis and they showed us all the latest gadgets they've been selling. Getac had all of their newest laptops and tablets out like the UX10, S410, and X600, as well as all of their camera equipment and mobile handheld devices. Havis, of course, brought a selection of their assorted vehicle docks and mounts for both rugged and non-rugged laptops and tablets alike. In Brother's booth, you could check out their latest sample of mobile printers and accessories like their RuggedJet 4230BL, a 4-inch Bluetooth mobile printer. It's not every day we get to see all the brand new technology, so getting familiar with what's coming out at this expo is always beneficial.
Our team had a great time talking with everyone at the expo this year and exploring their products. We can’t wait to go again next year!
